Who Buys All Those Google Ads?

Wired magazine put together a really great visual summary of the impact that online advertising is having across all companies.  Google generated $37.9 billion in revenue during FY11 and the following breaks it down by industry and also the top 5 major players within each of those sectors.

  1. Not surprising that industries with a ton of money and an undifferentiated product spend the most for the best real estate on the web.

As the Web becomes a must-use daily medium today, pay per click (PPC) advertising has grown by leaps and bounds.(such as the google and search engines) PPC advertisement is a form of advertising where ads are run and shown in search engines (including their partner sites). PPC ads allow advertisers to pay for visitors on mostly cost per click basis, though some options for cost per impressions are available as well.However,I think that social-network based advertising have more advantages over search based advertising. Beacuse Social media sites are great for building customer relationship and offers an incredible reach and the opportunity to connect with customers in an entirely new way. Also the cost will be lower than search based advertising.
